Child Care Volunteers
The Fort La Play Porte Redesign and Rebuild Steering Committee has been hard at work to ensure we are ready for a fun, exciting and fulfilling build week from June 10-15. We are fully funded, thanks to the generosity of our community, and now we need volunteers to help build a newly renovated play structure in Kesling Park or the next generation of children.
There are many ways to contribute to the success of the project – in addition to participating in the build itself, we seek a team of Child Care Volunteers. Volunteers who supervise and entertain the kids of our build volunteers during their shifts.
Stephanie Gadd, Assistant Director of Toddle Tykes Daycare, will oversee the Child Care and provide a short training session for all volunteers so we can ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.
Children will be at the Civic Auditorium, 1001 Ridge St, where volunteers will check them in and volunteers will spend their shift playing games, reading, coloring with the kids.
Shifts will be 7:30-12:30, 12:00-5:00, 4:30-8:45 each day of the build except Saturday when we will finish up the project at 4:30! We anticipate a need for at least 3-4 volunteers per shift if many of our build volunteers take advantage of the child care.
